Davey (ASL)

Boston Gunther is a student at North Ogden Junior High. He loves music and art, and also enjoys playing the guitar and the ukulele. Boston is extremely excited to perform at The Zig for his first time. As a Hard of Hearing actor he's stoked to be a part of this amazing opportunity to share the story of Newsies in 2 languages! Thanks to Ziegfeld Theater for bringing a Musical/ASL experience to the stage in our community!


Weisel (ASL)/Mayor

This is a first time theatrical experience for Bret Cummens and he is truly excited to be a part of the setting of a historic precedent for our local community. Bret is currently an ASL instructor for Weber State University. He has extensive experience, going back 20 years, in teaching ASL and Deaf Culture. Adding this rich experience of teaching all the actors/actresses will be a rewarding Savoir-Faire! He hopes his passion shows through in these performances and that this visible language will immensely enjoyable for you! Bret is an avid hiker, snow-shoer, and participates in a variety of other outdoor recreational activities. He also enjoys reading and trivia and is a history buff. Bret is thankful for all of your support and is honored to be a part of this historic event. He is thrilled for all of the actors/actresses who are able to be a part of this wonderful experience! 


Les (ASL)

Callie is thrilled to be performing for the first time at Ziegfeld Theater. Callie is 11 yrs old and in 6th grade. She enjoys dance & tumbling, and arts & crafts. She's excited to share the beauty of ASL through this special performance of Newsies! A big thank you to the amazing people at The Zig for providing this unique opportunity and their support of the Deaf community!


Nunzio/Bill Hearst/Henry/Scab 2

Colton is an Education Major and Theatre Education Minor at Weber State. He has directed six shows so far, two of which he has written. He’s also been teaching theatre and directing for five years at the Brigham City Fine Arts Center where he recently directed and choreographed a junior production of James and the Giant Peach. When he’s not putting a show together, he loves being in them. His most recent role was a teenager in Matilda. His favorite roles include the part of Richie Walters in A Chorus Line at the Ziegfeld Theatre and Mrs. Galahad in Spamalot TYA at Box Elder High School. This is his third show at the Ziegfeld, and he’s glad he got to join in on the adventure. He would like to thank Sarah, Ivan, Aubri, Chersti, Susan, Gracie, and Kate for all the support they have given him throughout this process.


Morris Delancey/Darcy

David Knowles is doing Newsies after his year-long isolation in the Forest of Mirkwood. Where he discovered his true talents in the ancient arts of the Arcane Magic. Once he finishes his commitment to the show of Newsies, he'll return to the dark forest to commence battle upon the evil darkness that resides there.


Stage Manager/Oscar Delancey

Devin is extremely excited to be performing along such a wonderful cast of Newsies. This will be his 8th production with his Zig family. This will be his third production this year following Singing in the Rain and Mamma Mia. He would like to thank his family and friends for their continued support. He would also like to thank each and everyone of you for coming out and experiencing this show and really seizing the day.


Jack Kelly

This is Dylans 3rd show at the Zig. He’s honored to be in this production of Newsies. Some past favorite roles include Jean ValJean, The Phantom, Claude Frollo, The Cowardly Lion, Chad ( All Shook Up). Some past favorite shows include Les Mis, Rocky Horror, The Little Mermaid, Jekyll and Hyde. Dylan’s sends special love and thanks to the amazing production team at the Zig, and his family.


Les (Voice)

Hinckley is so excited to be in her first "Main Stage" show with the Zig. Her favorite roles to date have been Nala in The Lion King kids and part of the Djinn dance troupe in Aladdin Jr., both with the Zig Academy. Her favorite place to be is with her Zig family! Thanks for believing in me and giving me this chance to 'be heard'.


JoJo/Scab 3

Jaycee was born and raised in North Ogden, Utah. She danced and tumbled competitively growing up and cheered competitively at Weber High School. She is a performer, a choreographer, and an undergraduate student at WSU, studying Art and Dance. She was offered a full ride dance scholarship at WSU. In college, she has studied various styles of dance including modern, ballet, hip hop, tap, aerial silks, and ballroom. She performed in WSU's Orchesis production for 4 years and was on WSU's Moving Company. She was a featured dancer in Footloose in high school. She trained with Raymond Van Mason at the IBT for 4 years and performed in the Nutcracker. She performed in ODT's Halloween Production of Thriller for 6 years. She danced with a chainsaw in Hackenslash at Lagoon's Frightmares in 2018 and 2019. She performed in 150+ shows as an acrobat in Lagoon's Big Top Summer show in 2019. She was a featured dancer in Mamma Mia at the Ziegfield Theater in 2019 and is happy to be back! Look for Jojo!



Hi I'm Jonathan Guerra and I am a dance performance major at Weber State University. I enjoy modern and ballet and love being able to do what I love to do as a career



Kate is thrilled to be returning to the stage with her Ziegfeld family she loves so much. Kate has been dancing since she could walk, and has never stopped. Some of her favorite roles include July in Annie, Gretchen in Freaky Friday, and Mamma Mia! In her free time she watercolors, bakes, and goes to great lengths to have a good time. Thank you for coming to our show!



This is KelliAnn's seventh production here at The Zig and she loves it here. She has graduated college with an Associate’s Degree in both musical theatre and dance and is very passionate about her work. A few of her favorite roles she has played are the feisty Rita LaPorta in Lucky Stiff, the witty Miss Marple in A Murder is Announced, and the hardcore Eddie in The Rocky Horror Show. "Genius is talent set on fire by courage." ~ Henry Van Dyke.



Kenzie is thrilled to be a part of this incredible show, loved by so many. Kenzie began her acting career at a young age, playing LIttle Cosette at Pioneer Theater Company. Some of Kenzie’s favorite roles include Ariel in the “Little Mermaid”, Suzy in “The Winter Wonderettes”, Urleen in “Footloose” and Cornelius in “Hamlet”. She has done some film as well as theatre and enjoys the challenges and opportunities that come with both. Kenzie absolutely loves her job working as an elementary school music teacher. She is constantly being creative and in her free time enjoys painting, decorating cakes and spending time with her six younger brothers.



Kevin has worked along the Wasatch front in theater and commercials for years He was recently seen in The Children at Good Company Theater. Some of Kevin’s favorites shows over the years has been as Lawrence in “Dirty Rotten Scoundrels”, the coach in “Damn Yankees”, Michael in “I do I do”, Professor Higgins in “My Fair Lady”, Stephen in “Godspell”, and as Sam Carmichael in “Mamma Mia”. He Is always happy to return the Zig Stage. He would like to thank his wife of over 30 years for her support.

Max is thrilled to be in his second show at the Ziegfeld/ Egyptian following ‘Mark Anthony’ in A Chorus Line. He has also been seen in other productions including Hello Dolly as ‘Barnaby’, Les Miserables as ‘Marius’ and a National Youth Theatre nominee for Best Actor as ‘Daniel’ in Once on this Island as well as Best Actor Regional Theatre award for ‘Astyanax’ in Trojan Women. He Studies at The Salt Lake School for the Performing Arts in their Theatrical Art Conservatory. Max would like to thank the Ziegfeld and Egyptian theatres for this opportunity and for an amazing run.


Race/Dance Captain

Mejai Perry is back and is ready to “Seize the Day” and “Carry the Banner” with the audience and show what he gets to bring to the table for this show! This is his 20th production with the Ziegfeld Theatre. His most recent shows include Mamma Mia! A Chorus Line, and The Rocky Horror Picture Show! He would like to give thanks to Caleb Parry and the Production team of The Ziegfeld Theatre for giving him a chance and trusting him to do this show justice. He’s soo grateful to perform in this special unforgettable show and the opportunity to work with this inspiring, Undeniably talented, kind and hard working cast.  He would like to give an extra special thanks to his friends and family, because of you he gets the opportunity to do what he loves most. So with that said, sit back and “Watch What Happens” when this show blows you out the water “Once and For All” because “The World Will Know” how unreal this show is.


Bowery Beauty/Nun

Sam has a passion for theater, especially the dancing side and is thrilled to be apart of Newsies! She has been interested in ASL since a kid and is grateful to be involved in such a cool production. Samantha has performed in 10 musicals and plays at Ogden High School and just finished her first show at the Ziegfeld Theater in Les Miserables as Madame Thenardier.



Shaun is thrilled to be returning the Ziegfeld stage. He previously gave Zig theatre goers an eye full as Harold Nichols in The Full Monty. Other favorite roles include; Clarence The Guardian Angel in It’s a Wonderful Life (Hopebox Theater), The Spider in Jekyll & Hyde, Frankie in Forever Plaid, Rooster in Annie, and Gomez in The Addams Family (Heritage Theater). “Cara Mia, thank you for opening my eyes and for making me the happiest man, husband, and father in the world!”


Hannah/Bowery Beauty/Nun

Stefanie is excited to be returning to the Ziegfeld stage. She was last seen at the Zig in The Full Monty and Fiddler on the Roof. Other favorite roles include; Mary Bailey in It’s a Wonderful Life (Hopebox Theater), Red Rat Dancer in Jekyll & Hyde, Lady Caroline in Enchanted April, Lily St. Regis in Annie, and Morticia in The Addams Family (Heritage Theater). Stefanie loves being involved in theater alongside her husband, Shaun, and her children. “Thank you to my parents and friends who are always so supportive, to Natalie and Carter who are so patient with the long hours and time away, and to Shaun, who not only supports my passion, but is right there alongside me.” 



Stephen began dancing at age five, at some point fell in love with musical theatre, and the rest is history. He is thrilled to be making his debut here at the Ziegfeld Theatre in this spectacular production! A native of Logan, he recently appeared as JoJo in Newsies and a chimney sweep in Mary Poppins with Utah Festival Opera. Other favorite shows include "Oklahoma!" "Man of La Mancha," and "Footloose!" Stephen is currently training to become a civilian pilot at Utah State University. On a final note, he would like to thank the production team at the Ziegfeld for their repeated acceptance of Krispy Kreme donuts as compensation for being late due to snow in Sardine Canyon.


Roosevelt/Weisel (Voice)/Seitz/Jacobi

Tim Behunin is a regular player at the Ziegfeld Theater.  He is happy to be on the boards again.



What an amazing opportunity to be able to be part of this show. Never could imagine being able to learn ASL with my larger than normal hands. I am thankful to my family for allowing me to take time away from them.


Specs/Spot Conlin

Willoughby has been doing theater for four years, and has been dancing for 11 years. She is excited to try theater outside of high school, as well as put her dancing experience to something new!

Wyatt is excited to be returning back to the Zig stage. He would like to thank Mom, Dad, Andrew, and everyone else who constantly supports him.
