THE ACCLAIMED BROADWAY MUSICAL ABOUT AN ORPHAN BOY, CHARMS HEARTS AT THE ZIEGFELD THEATER
“Consider Yourself at Home”
August 10-September 1, 2018
OGDEN, UT-July 27, 2018- Broadway brings Charles Dickens' novel to life in this Tony and Olivier Award-winning musical about an orphan boy on his quest to find love and family. Equal parts charming and sober, Oliver! is widely hailed as a true theatrical masterpiece by actors and family audiences alike.
The streets of Victorian England come to life as Oliver, a malnourished orphan in a workhouse, becomes the neglected apprentice of an undertaker. Oliver escapes to London and finds acceptance amongst a group of petty thieves and pickpockets led by the elderly Fagin. When Oliver is captured for a theft that he did not commit, the benevolent victim, Mr. Brownlow takes him in. Fearing the safety of his hideout, Fagin employs the sinister Bill Sikes and the sympathetic Nancy to kidnap him back, threatening Oliver’s chances of discovering the true love of a family.
Oliver! is music directed by Kyle Lawrence and choreographed by Bryan Andrews.
The Ziegfeld Theater continues its sixth season with a classic, family musical. Under the executive leadership of Caleb Parry, the theater pursues a mission of “Professional Standard, Community Spirit” as it strives to bring quality entertainment to diverse audiences in Northern Utah.
