For Immediate Release
THE ZIEGFELD THEATER PRESENTS PETER AND THE STARCATCHER
From the creative mind of humorist Dave Barry comes a Peter Pan origin story for all ages.
August 4 - September 2
OGDEN, UT-July 13, 2017- How did a little orphan Peter become Peter Pan? Experience the story before the legend in this wildly theatrical adventure of marauding pirates and unlikely heroes. Based on the best-selling novels by Dave Barry, this Tony Award-winning production is a story for all ages, but especially those who do not wish to grow up.
A young orphan and his mates are shipped off from Victorian England to a distant island ruled by the evil King Zarboff. They know nothing of the mysterious trunk in the captain’s cabin, which contains a precious, otherworldly cargo. At sea, the boys are discovered by a precocious young girl named Molly, a Starcatcher-in-training who realizes that the trunk’s precious cargo is starstuff, a celestial substance so powerful that it must never fall into the wrong hands. When the ship is taken over by pirates – led by the fearsome Black Stache, a villain determined to claim the trunk and its treasure for his own – the journey quickly becomes a thrilling adventure.
Peter and the Starcatcher is directed and choreographed by Jim Christian with music direction by Rick Rea.
The Ziegfeld Theater continues its fifth season in 2017 with a magical, family production.
