La Cage aux Folles Cast Bios
DANIEL AKIN (Francis/Tabarro) is honored to be in this presentation of La Cage aux Folles. He has recently appeared as Dennis in Rock of Ages, Andre in Dirty Rotten Scoundrels, the Factory Foreman/Joly in Les Misérables, the Constable in Fiddler on the Roof, and Donkey in Shrek The Musical. Other favorite roles include Neville Craven in The Secret Garden, Rooster in Annie, and the Narrator in Joseph and The Amazing Technicolor Dreamcoat. Danny would like to thank his family, and say thank you to the Parrys for including him in the Ziegfeld family.
BRYAN ANDREWS (Chantal) is thrilled to be performing in his fifteenth show on The Ziegfeld stage. He has been seen as Franz in Rock of Ages, Flotsam in Disney’s The Little Mermaid, Baby John in West Side Story and Draco Malfoy in Fairly Potter. Other previous credits include The Producers and Fiddler on the Roof. He'd like to thank all of his friends and family for their undying love and support. "You are enough. You are so enough, its unbelievable how enough you are."
ANDREW COLE (Jacob) This is Andrew's twelfth production with The Ziegfield Theater. He has thoroughly enjoyed every show that he is done at The Zig, especially playing the roles of Aldolfo in The Drowsy Chaperone, Edna in Hairspray and King Arthur in Spamalot. Andrew is originally from the Washington DC area where he performed at the White House and the Kennedy Center.
SAMUEL HOLDAWAY (Mercedes) is very excited to be in his second show at The Zig, his first being Disney’s The Little Mermaid as Chef Louis. Samuel did a lot of acting, dancing, and singing growing up, including in West Side Story, Seussical the Musical, Thoroughly Modern Millie, Arsenic and Old Lace, and Chitty Chitty Bang Bang, which he also helped choreograph. Samuel would like to thank everyone at The Ziegfeld Theater for allowing him to be part of this wonderful experience.
HEIDI POTTER HUNT (Jacqueline/Odette) Heidi is happy to be performing here with her Zig family again! Most recently Heidi has been seen here as Christine Colgate in Dirty Rotten Scoundrels. Other Zig credits include Heidi Fiona in Shrek, the Musical and Franca in The Light in the Piazza. Some of her other favorite projects include starring in the World Premiere of Guess Who's Coming to Seder at Tulsa Project Theater and performing at Tuachan in The Sound of Music and Oklahoma! Heidi's credits also include music directing, choreography and producing. KEVIN IRELAND (M. Dindon) was last seen at The Zig as Lawrence in Dirty Rotten Scoundrels and last fall as Wilbur in Hairspray. You may also recognize him as the cowboy in all of the Big O tire commercials. Kevin has been involved in theater for many years and always loves working with all of his friends at The Zig and the great talent here in the Ogden area. Kevin sends out a big thanks to his supportive family and friends.
PAMELA JENSIK (Bitelle/Colette) is so grateful to be a part of The Zig theater family. After graduating with a BM in Vocal Performance (classical emphasis) from the U of WY in 2014, she took off singing and dancing into the world of Musical Theatre. Favorite past roles include Go-To-Hell Kitty (Chicago), Barbarina (scenes from Le nozze di Figaro), and Ensemble at The Zig for Dirty Rotten Scoundrels and Rock of Ages. When she isn’t performing on stage or in rehearsal, she spends her time dancing lindy hop and blues and working on her aerial silks/lyra/pole skills. She would like to thank her friends and family for all their love and support.
CAMERON KAPETANOV (Albin) is delighted to be playing this fabulous role. Recent/favorite credits include the drummer for Rock of Ages, Max Bialystock in The Producers, the title role in Shrek The Musical, and Father in Children of Eden. “Thank you for supporting the arts.”
ALICIA KONDRICK (ASM/Mme. Dindon and Mme. Renaud u/s) is honored to be in her second show at The Ziegfeld Theater as an actress. This is her eighth show at The Zig as part of the production team and she couldn't be more excited to see what the future holds. She is currently a Junior at Weber State University as a musical theatre major. She also has a deep passion for costume design. She would like to thank her Mom and her Zig family for the continuous love and support. "Enjoy the show mes chéris.”
CAROL MADSEN (Mme. Dindon/Mme. Renaud) is excited to return to The Ziegfeld Theater since she last played Ouiser in Steel Magnolias. She always enjoys roles that teach her something about other walks of life. Favorite roles she has played include Betty Meeks in The Foreigner, Lady Francis in A Man for All Seasons, Edith Banks in Barefoot in the Park, and Mrs. Tottendale in The Drowsy Chaperone. “Thank you Ziegfeld and to this marvelous company for the opportunity to share the stage with you. And thank you to my family, and especially my wonderful husband. I adore you!"
DANIEL PACK (Jean-Michel) is delighted to be working with this cast in this magical production. Favorite roles at The Zig include Eric in Disney’s The Little Mermaid, Dr. Frankenstein in Young Frankenstein, Motel the Tailor in Fiddler on the Roof, and Leo Bloom in The Producers. He loves chocolate milk.
CALEB PARRY (Georges) has been performing in Ogden for almost 25 years. Caleb has his BS in Make-Believe (Bachelors of Musical Theater) from Weber State University. He attended school in Rock Springs, Wyoming as well. Caleb is excited to play this role and bring the community this amazing message of love and acceptance since he and Morgan (his wife) are big supporters of LGBTQ rights. Some of his favorite roles include The Baker in Into the Woods (Ziegfeld Theater), Signor Naccarelli in The Light in the Piazza (Ziegfeld Theater), Officer Barrel in Urinetown (Egyptian Theater), Jean val Jean in Les Misérables (Scera and Layton High School), Georg, Arpad and Sipos, in She Loves Me! (Various productions and venues), and Buffalo Bill in Annie Get your Gun (Western Wyoming College). Caleb Also enjoys directing and has directed several show for The Ziegfeld Theater including Shrek, Fiddler on the Roof, The Music Man, and Young Frankenstein. Special thanks to his amazing wife for being the best wife of all time and to Coco, my libeling, for always reminding me to choose self love, my inner child and dance… always dance.
MEJAI PERRY (Phaedra) is a 2014 graduate of Bonneville High School. He loves performing more than anything else in the world and is so grateful to have the chance to do it every single day. He has the heart of a Hufflepuff and the sarcasm of a Slytherin. His most recent shows include Little Shop of Horrors, Oklahoma!, West Side Story, Hairspray, A Fairly Potter Christmas Carol, Dirty Rotten Scoundrels, and The Music Man. He would like to thank KelliAnn Johnson, Bryan Andrews, Alicia Kondrick, Eliza Haynie, Hannah Wetzker, Katie Weber, Britni Wickham, Pamela Jensik and Rick Rea and for always encouraging him to take big chances and to go for what he wants. He would also like to give a special thanks to Morgan Parry and The Ziegfeld Theater for giving him a chance to perform in this show, it means the world to him that he gets to live out his dream!
JOSHUA SAMUEL ROBINSON (Hanna/Etienne/Dance Captain) is incredibly blessed to be in this exciting production of La Cage aux Folles having recently been seen on our stage in Rock of Ages, Dirty Rotten Scoundrels, Young Frankenstein, Hairspray and Action in West Side Story. You may also have seen him in shows such as Xanadu (Thalia), Charm (Henry David Thoreau), La Cage Aux Folles (Mercedes) or any other of the thirty six productions he has been in. Josh choreographs as well as performs and you may have seen his work here at The Zig in Dirty Rotten Scoundrels, or White Christmas. “Hello! I am so happy to be back! Thank you all for your continued patience with my acting career. I hope to see you again real soon.”
DAVID TANNER (M. Renaud/Waiter) is excited to return to The Ziegfeld stage, having appeared in last season’s production of Young Frankenstein. Dave wishes to express gratitude to his family at The Zig for their support and a special shout out to the love of his life, Emily. Without her support he would not be able to do this.
JOSHUA WHITE (Angelique) is attending college with a minor in performing arts and dance. He recently performed in Weber State’s Orchesis Dance Theater’s spring show. Previously Josh was part of the University of Utah’s Tanner Dance Company and their Children’s Dance Theater. Other shows Josh has performed in at The Ziegfeld include Spamalot, and The Producers.
KELLY WIDEMAN (Anne/Clo-Clo) is a regular here at The Ziegfeld and has loved being back on the stage for La Cage Aux Folles! When she's not onstage performing, she is production managing or working behind the scenes on our other main stage shows. She loves her job working as an Associate Producer at the theater and also playing with her dog. "Enjoy the show!"
MORGAN PARRY (Director) is excited to be directing La Cage aux Folles. Her cast and production team have been amazing to work with and have inspired her throughout the process. Other favorite directing experiences include Disney’s The Little Mermaid, A Fairly Potter Christmas Carol, West Side Story, The Light in the Piazza, Steel Magnolias, and Seussical. She would like to thank her husband and daughter for giving her the time to direct. They are her inspiration for everything she does in her life and she adores them.
TALESE HUNT (Choreographer) is a Utah native and University of Utah graduate. She is excited to be back at The Ziegfeld Theater after playing Ulla in The Producers in 2014 and choreographing The Zig’s productions of West Side Story and Young Frankenstein. Talese has enjoyed traveling the United States as a Radio City Rockette, and cruising the world for Jean Ann Ryan Productions. In Utah, she has also performed at Tuacahn Amphitheatre, Hale Centre Theatre WVC, and The Egyptian Theatre in Park City. When she isn't dancing, Talese enjoys teaching Pilates and training prospective teachers here in Utah as well as around the world. “Thanks, Greg, for your undying support!”
BONNIE BEUS ROMNEY (Music Director) previously directed the music for Young Frankenstein on The Ziegfeld stage, and couldn’t be more thrilled to work on what she considers one of the finest musicals of all time. It has truly been a joy to be immersed in this lavish, sweet and powerful score for the last several months. Currently based out of Arizona, she has been seen as a performer on stages in Phoenix, Los Angeles and Utah, with her most recent local production being Fiddler on the Roof at Pioneer Theatre Company. “Thank you for supporting local theater and local artists. We should feel immense pride at the wealth of talent in our community.”
